About Ozworks Entertainment and what we do
Ozworks was a title that I thought up back in 1988 when I was working, or trying to, as an actor in Sydney Australia. While as a young actor sitting around waiting for the phone to ring to inform me that I nearly got an acting role, a few friends and I would workshop up and coming Australian playwrights at the Harold Park Hotel on a Wednesday night. We called ourselves "Ozworks in the Park". We thought ourselves pretty artsy and loved our play on words title. Ozworks - Works of Australia / in the park - Harold Park Hotel. Thinking about it now some 23 years later I can't remember quite why we thought it was so good....anyway!
That didn't last very long. When you're trying to launch your acting career it's certainly true to say that life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans. Suddenly I found myself living on the Gold Coast and working for Warner Bros Movie World as an actor / stunt performer.

"The Man from Snowy River Arena Spectacular"
I was approached by a business woman from Indonesia after one of the shows and she asked me to put together a cowboy stunt show on a mountain 2 hours drive out of Jakarta. I thought..."why not?"
That show was blessed with some of the best stunt performers in Australia..oh and me. Glen Boswell ( who has been the stunt coordinator on just about everything including The Thin Red Line) Zelie Thompson, Michael Corrigan and Shea Adams.
The short version is that on the back of that show I toured 10 productions into Asia the following year 1997. I needed to quickly register a business and do those important administration things in order to run the business properly. So Ozworks Entertainment Pty Ltd was and after a recent restructure is now Ozworks Creative & Entertainment.
So what does Ozworks do today?
Large scale outdoor arena based attractions has kept me very busy as you'll read all over this web site. I am the only person in Australia at the current time producing these large scale arena productions for Show Societies and special events. Probably because of the cost and the enormous work load but I tend to get many inquiries about them.
Theme Parks are also regular clients, when they want someone to build a new attraction or re-vamp an old one, thankfully I'm the kind of person they call. I can be asked to train their staff to be more effective in their presentations suggest what needs to be done to improve existing attractions and shows. My main work however is to create new shows and attractions for my theme park clients. I currently have two permanent shows at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast and one at Underwater World on the Sunshine Coast.
Work can become quite varied. I received a call a few years ago from Great Southern Rail in Adelaide to rewrite the on-board announcements on board two of the worlds greatest transcontinental rail journeys. The Ghan which travels form Adelaide to Darwin and the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth. That project was very interesting and involved the stories of hundreds of people across Australia who live in the towns that both trains travel through.
Other creative services that I and the team at Ozworks provide are; script writing, media releases, creative promotions, interpretive talks, event management, show calling, music production, artist management, vocal coaching and more.
Thanks for taking an interest in what we do.
